## \uD83E\uDD14 Problem

The request option is not available for records in the portal. 

## \uD83C\uDF31 Solution

This depends on several settings on the System configuration, Library, Record types and record level. 

1. **System Configuration: **Make sure at** **the system level requesting is allowed in the system, because this cannot be overridden by any other setting. This also allows you to specify other settings related to request.

2. **Access Permission:** Check the access permission whether or not any requesting is allowed by users with that access permission. On the top of the access permission allow request with maximum number of time.

It can also be set for individual record types. In that case, check request is allowed for the RT the users have access to.

 3.** Library settings: **There are four settings which relate to Requests and Reservations namely Request collecting allowed,** **Request sending allowed, Request inter-sending allowed, Request inter-collecting allowed. **Make sure you have selected at least one of these options, or requesting will not be possible. **


4. **Record Type settings: **Check that requests are allowed for that specific record type. These are under the **Requests **tab in “**Additional Settings**”.

5. **Record: **There are settings related to request at the record level. Check that the type of request you want to make is allowed for the record. Click **Expand Additional Settings** at the top of the screen. The tick boxes as necessary.
