## 🤔 Problem

The “Access Denied” error was shown when the client was trying to add the manual issue of an irregular issue from check-in. Initially it seems to be something related to permission as per the error.

The first step was checking the roles and permission of the User trying to Add the manual issue. The User already had the “Admin” access and was allowed for all content and record type.

Then after further checking in dB it was found that the issue was relating to the record type and content type.

## 🌱 Solution

Just to be sure check the permissions and role of the user trying to add the irregular issue.

In this case this was not the issue. For the solution we need to understand the cause of the problem.

**Cause: **

When the Issue records are created (i.e. record type = issue) , the system automatically assign the “Content Type” of the record for which the subscription is made. Like if that record had content type “Books” assigned, the issue record will be assigned content type “Books”.

In the image below you can see that the checkbox for “Books” content type is unchecked. So an Issue record under “Book” content type can’t be created. This was giving the “Access Denied” error.

### **Solution: **

The solution is easy. For the Issue record type, check the checkbox for the content type “Book” and save. Now new Issue record can be created without any error.

A Product improvement ticket is already created (LMS-7528) for this issue. The target is to generate a more understandable error for both sides.
