When a submitter opens a Submission, which is currently being reviewed, the Status shows **Review(s) in Progress**.  The submitter can access any part of the review by clicking on the Navigation bar or clicking Next in each section.

**Metadata**

Whenever a Submitter accesses the Metadata tab, they will automatically open the record in View mode. It is possible to amend the record by clicking on the Edit button, unless a Reviewer has edit access and is currently editing the same record, in which case the Submitter will only be able to see the record in View mode.  The edit button will be replaced with “Unlock Record” – when the user hovers above this unlock button it will display, “This record is currently being edited by *User X* since *Date and Time*”

If a record is currently locked for editing, the Submitter, Reviewer or Administrator can decide to unlock the record  by clicking on the Unlock button but when they do this the following message will be shown: “If you continue to unlock this record, the user currently editing this record will lose any changes or additions they have made since last save, are you sure you want to continue?”  Then provide a Yes and No option. If the user clicks on **Yes** then the record will be unlocked and the Lock Button will be replaced with the Normal Edit button and an email will be sent to the user that was editing the record, informing them that the record  that they were editing has been released so it can be edited by another user.

The Documents on the right-hand side will be shown in the same way that has been previously described.  The only additional function available in the Actions column is a button called **Force Check-in**.  The Submitter and or a user with Administrator role, can use this if they find that a document has been checked out for too long and they want to make it available to others.  If they click on Force Check-in and confirm they want to continue, a message will be sent to the Reviewer who had it open, informing them that the check-out has been cancelled and they will have to check it out again in order to continue.

**Reviewer**

When the submitter accesses the Reviewer section, they will see the current Reviewers as well as any delegations.  One additional function available is the Remove button will be available on every reviewer, so if the Submitter wishes to remove a user from the reviewers list they can do so but only if the reviewer has not yet started to review the submission, if they are currently reviewing it or have already approved or rejected, the name cannot be removed.  They will also be able to change the Role providing it was not already set to Reviewer and the reviewer has already approved it or working on it.

The Submitter at any point up until the Submission has been Approved can also go and Add Additional users to the reviews table using the User Search function previously described. Note that this does not change the Workflow deadline, so if workflow deadline was set to 10 days and additional user added 5 days in, then they will have 5 working days instead of 10. The additional users will of course get the normal email that will show this deadline.

**Comments**

The Submitter can access the Comments section where they will see their comments at the top and if they wish they can edit them.  They can also add additional comments using the My Comments box on the right-hand side and click on Save, at which point the new notes will be added – note that in the overview section the latest note will always be shown at the top.  They can also edit their comments by clicking on the Edit link.

The submitter will also be able to view comments made by reviewers and their current status.
