By default, the system has a task that runs weekly on a Monday morning. This is to ensure that issues are generated for the next x period. The x period will depend on your configuration; by default, this is set to 3 months, but it can be changed by the Help Desk to 12 months if you prefer.

However, when creating subscriptions, you may discover that issues are initially created for 12 months. Therefore, if you are creating new subscriptions that start in the past, this will mean that only the first 12 months' worth of issues will be created and you will not see these issues on the check-in screen. If you do not need to check anything in now, then you can just wait for the task to run the following Monday. But if you do want to see/check them in now, you need to run the renew task manually.

Tick the check box for the task labelled "Renew ongoing subscriptions", then select **Run Task(s) now **in the Actions menu.

The task may not run immediately: the system checks every 30 seconds for tasks that have been activated. Click **Refresh** in the Actions menu to check that the task is running and has completed.

Once the task has been completed, go to the [Check-in screen](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278486) to see the expected issues (you may need to tick the Expected tick box and update the date range).
