This function allows you to duplicate the current copy record. Duplicate can only be accessed from the copy [edit screen](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278263).

When duplicating a catalogue record you may not want to copy every field. For example, you want to create a record for the new edition of a title and therefore do not want to copy the Publication Date, ISBN and ISSN fields as they will be different in the new record. By default the above 3 fields will not be copied but it is also possible to prevent other fields from being copied. At the moment, this can only be done by Soutron staff: if you require any changes, please contact the [Help Desk](mailto:helpdesk@soutron.com) for assistance.

From the [Locations table-Library (old)](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3279251):

- either click **Edit** in the box next to the copy you want to edit
- or click on the copy to select it and then click **Edit Copy** in the Actions menu

You will then be taken to the edit screen.

Click **Duplicate** in the Actions menu.

Update the new copy record in the normal way and click **Save & Close** when complete.
