As well as the setups described below, you also need to set up the [Acquisitions module](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3277118) before you can begin to use the Serials module.

### Serials set-up

Before setting up individual serials, you need to define the following:

- any pre-defined [routing lists](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278085) you may want
- [formatting strings](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278330), which determine how the issue information is portrayed

 

Setting up the subscriptions for individual serials consists of defining:

- the frequency
- the subscription order
- the routing lists

This all comes under the [Serials Management Control Centre](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3279500) (SMCC).
