Standard Answer the following questions: | | | | | --- | --- | --- | | **Is the order for physical copies?** | Select **No** if the order is for eg electronic materials such as eBooks - the last two questions and the [Copies & Distribution](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3277948)[ stage will disappear.](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3276905)
Otherwise, leave the selection as Yes. | Yes | | This order is for 3 volumes, do you want to order all of the volumes? | Item with volumes only: specify whether you are ordering all the volumes or not
If you select No, a list of all the volumes is displayed:

Deselect the ones you don't want to order copies of. | Yes | | > Macro (anchor) **Quantity required:**
**OR**
**How many copies of each volume being ordered?** | Enter the number of copies being ordered
It doesn't matter if you get this wrong here, as you can add additional copies in the [Copies & Distribution](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3279389) stage | 1 | | **Delivery Office:** | Enter the office to which the order is to be delivered | The logged-in user's office | | **Delivery period (working days):** | Enter the number of working days in which you expect the order to be delivered | 0 | | **Do you want to barcode received copies?** | This relates to barcoding of the items when they are received, and applies to all copies in this order line.
> ℹ️ Note that you are able to change this setting for individual [copies](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3279389) or for the [whole order](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3277960/Creating+a+new+Order+from+Acquisitions#CreatinganewOrderfromAcquisitions-Barcoding)
Select **No** if barcodes are not to be applied - the last question will disappear.
Otherwise, leave the selection as Yes. | Yes | | **Do you want barcodes to be generated automatically?** | Select one of the following three options:
- **Auto** (default) - this assigns a barcode to each received copy or journal issue automatically, as long as you have defined a barcode in [Barcode Templates Maintenance](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278679) - **Manual** - allows you to manually enter a barcode when the copies or journal issues are received - **None** - select this option if barcodes are not to be assigned to individual journal issues or copies. Note that if you select this option, you will not be able to loan the issues or copies to users. | Auto |
Serials subscriptions Answer the following questions: | | | | --- | --- | | **Is the subscription to be ongoing?** | This option appears if you have allowed ongoing subscriptions in System Configuration Maintenance ([Acquisitions tab](https://soutron.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HG/pages/3278592/Acquisitions+settings#Acquisitionssettings-Ongoing)). If you select Yes, the option to specify an End Date disappears.
> ❌ **Caution**! If you specify that the subscription is to be fixed, not ongoing, you cannot change it later. Instead you would create a new order once the fixed subscription has finished, and set it as ongoing.
**We strongly recommend that you set serial subscriptions to be ongoing**, as otherwise you would need to create a new subscription every year, for each title. With ongoing subscriptions, all you need to do each year is process the invoice (if you use Soutron for processing invoices). You can turn off the "ongoing" setting at any time. | | **What date does the subscription start?** | Enter the start date for the subscription - today's date is shown by default. To change the Start Date:
- either click into the box and manually enter the date - or click on the drop-down arrow and select the date from the calendar | | **What date does the subscription end?** | If you have not selected ongoing subscription, enter the end date for the subscription - the date is calculated as a year from today. The date can be changed in the same way as for the Start Date. |
