There are a number of reasons why you might need to edit terms: correcting  spelling mistakes or other changes - this is a powerful tool as it also corrects the entries in the records themselves merging terms  which should be the same - this also corrects the entries in the records themselves Correcting mistakes or other changes Search for the term you want to change: use the expand options described above, or scrolling to navigate to the required term search for the specific term in the search box Then click "Search" next to the search box or press Enter to run the search. To change the term: Click on the term to select it In the term edit screen, change the term in the Term Entry box Click  Save , then  Close Merging terms If you have two (or more) terms which are similar and should really be the same term, you can merge them. Search as above, and select the term which you DON'T want In the term edit screen, click the  Merge Into  button Another search screen opens on the right of the screen: search for the term which you DO want, and click on it to select it (the unwanted term is greyed out so you can't select it by accident) The following pop-up appears: Click on  Confirm  - if the term is part of a hierarchy, tick the boxes to merge those as well You are now in the term edit screen for the term you DO want - the number of records in the Where Used tab has changed to reflect the fact that the change has been made in the records as well Click  Save , then  Close
